Administration Fee

Our practice has implemented an annual Administrative Services Fee to be paid by all its patients to cover the significant amount of time we have to spend on providing these administrative services which are not covered by any federal, state or private health insurance coverage. The Administrative Services do not include medical services, which are generally covered under most insurance policies. Rather, these Administrative Services cover the costs of services that make our practice unique, including 24-hour (emergency) call service, providing documentation to employers when necessary and upon consent, expedited copies of medical file, calling/e-scribing prescriptions and refills, the ability to schedule telemedicine appointments, and assisting patients with insurance claims. The annual Administrative Services Fee is $250.00 per patient, to be paid annually.

What Does The Administration Fee Cover?

What is an administrative fee?
The Administrative Fee is charged annually to cover services that are not paid by your insurance.

It is NOT a concierge fee and it is NOT for medical services.
It can be paid in monthly installments if you need financial assistance.

Why does this practice charge an administrative fee?

Private practice is difficult to sustain in this medical climate.  Many doctors have opted to become employees of hospitals rather than deal with dwindling insurance reimbursements and huge overheads.
Insurance denials have increased, forcing us to spend more man-hours fighting for you to receive the appropriate care that you need and deserve.
Patients are demanding more care to be delivered via patient emails, phone calls and texts which are not paid by your insurance.

What are the services offered by the administrative fee?
•    Peer-to-peer reviews when you get an insurance denial for any reason (imaging, medication, labs, etc.)
•    Expedited appointments for emergencies only.
•    Saturday appointments if needed.
•    Weekend emergency calls
•    Medical leave, Family Leave and Disability paperwork.
•    Medical records requests.
•    Expedited medication refill requests (you must be up to date with all your appointments and obligations)

Administrative fees are non-billable fees that some doctors charge patients for services that are not covered by insurance. These fees can be used to cover a range of tasks, including:
•    Consulting patients by phone
•    Faxing documents to employers
•    Calling in prescription refills
•    Completing forms
•    Peer-to-peer reviews
•    Expedited same-day appointments
•    Saturday appointments
•    Weekend & emergency calls
